Dela’s story

Hi, I’m Rachel. 

Thank you for being here. 

Dela was created from a simple belief: our most meaningful memories deserve to be carried with us, not tucked away in a drawer or forgotten on a phone. 

For me, memories have always been incredibly important. Whether it’s a favourite photograph, a handwritten note, a baby’s first curl, or the memory of someone no longer with us, these little things tell the story of our lives. 

That’s why every Dela keepsake is individually personalised by me here in New Zealand. 

When your order arrives, I’m the one who carefully prints your tiny photographs, prepares each keepsake and thoughtfully completes your locket. I know that what you’re sending isn’t “just an order”, it’s something deeply personal, and I treat it with the care and respect it deserves. 

One of the questions I’m asked most is, “Why Dela?”

The name holds a special meaning for me. 

In Portuguese, dela means “hers.” I loved the idea that every locket belongs to her- her memories, her loved ones, her story to carry close. 

Portuguese is also a language that’s close to my heart. I spent time living in Brazil, and it’s a place filled with memories I’ll always treasure. Choosing the name Dela felt like the perfect way to honour both the meaning behind the keepsakes I create and a chapter of my own life that continues to hold a special place in my heart. 

Every keepsake I create has it’s own story.

Some celebrate the arrival of a new baby.

Some mark a wedding day. 

Some keep a beloved pet close. 

Others honour someone who is deeply missed. 

Every piece I fill is unique because every life, every memory and every family is unique. 

It truly is a privilege to be trusted with moments that can’t be replaced, and I never take that responsibility for granted.
